Warming

Thank heavens for spring. About mid-February I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown. The kids were driving me up the walls and I thought I'd never feel the sun warming me again. I'm glad to be proved wrong.

With spring, people start to think about photos and it seems like I've had people calling me up every other week to schedule something. I'm a little surprised, but I'm happy to go with it.

The shoot I did yesterday has been in the plans for a few months now, at least. My sister-in-law, Lindsey, is graduating from Dental Hygienist school in about a month and we thought it would be fun to memorialize this time in her life with some photos. I had two spots in mind for her photos, one was the Garden Park Ward in the Harvard/Yale neighborhood of Salt Lake City. It's an LDS chapel but has a really beautiful garden that is a hot spot for portraits. There were three other groups doing photos when we were there, which, I imagine, is nothing compared to when flowers and trees start blooming. Everything was still pretty dead. (Side note: The Hubs and I were going to do our engagements there, but when we showed up to check it out the night before, they were setting up for a reception the next day. Bummer.)

The other spot was a painted wall with a blue door on State Street and 4800 South. I drive by it all the time and think what a great spot it would be for photos and I was so excited we were able to make it there. There was also an alley on the other side of the building we used.

I really needed a good photo session and this was so much fun. I get in these funks where I hate everything I take, but this session with Lindsey was fantastic. I have so many favorites which I'll share later, but this one is my most favorite:

Warming

I saw this photo awhile back by Sheye Rosemeyer and about died. I needed to have one of my own. (I love Sheye's photos as much as I love P-Dub's whole website. Which is quite a lot.)

Thanks, Linds, for the fun time! I'm on my way to work on your announcement.

So lovely! She's really beautiful. I totally know what wall you're talking about! Jeff's cousin took his engagement photos there and I fell in love. I've been looking for something like that ever since. Glad you got to get out and enjoy the sunshine!
